Englisches Abstract

The record of 'Libellula virgo' in south-western Greenland by O. Fabricius in the 1770ies is reassessed. It is inferred that the specimen was most probably a female Calopteryx maculata. Morphological characteristics presented by Fabricius are compared with those of similar species from continental North America that might have reached Greenland. Origin and transportation of the specimen by accidental wind drift are discussed in some detail.
