Englisches Abstract

Editorial summaries based on the published abstracts and contributions. Association notices without an original abstract are summarised editorially.

1–11: Preliminary biodiversity assessment of the odonate fauna of the Takamanda Forest Reserve, Cameroon (Graham S. Vick)

Preliminary inventories place Takamanda within an important rainforest diversity area. Species, localities and habitat associations are reviewed, with emphasis on forest specialists, relict lineages and the value of larval sampling for documenting elusive adults and informing conservation.

12–18: Dragonflies of East Africa (Viola Clausnitzer)

This progress report brings together work on identification, regional inventories, ecology and local research capacity. It discusses forest and wetland assemblages, Coryphagrion grandis, collaboration and the use of dragonflies in biodiversity monitoring.

19–27: Dragonfly research in the Okavango Delta, Botswana (Jens Kipping)

Fieldwork in the Okavango Delta examines dragonfly diversity and habitats using adults, larvae and exuviae. The account describes study sites, practical sampling conditions and an inventory, providing groundwork for further ecological and faunistic research.

28–31: Ground to canopy distribution of bromeliad-dwelling Mecistogaster modesta larvae (Odonata: Pseudostigmatidae) in a Costa Rican rainforest (Diane S. Srivastava & Michael C. Melnychuk)

Larvae inhabiting bromeliads were surveyed from ground level to canopy. Estimated density was about 171 larvae per hectare, mostly at intermediate heights; only four percent occurred in the canopy. Bromeliad size and abundance largely explain this vertical pattern.
