Editorial summaries based on the published abstracts and contributions. Association notices without an original abstract are summarised editorially.
1–8: Status of Somatochlora brevicincta (Odonata: Corduliidae), the Quebec Emerald, in North America (Paul-Michael Brunelle)
Records, diagnostic characters and habitat information are reviewed for this rarely encountered North American species. Range extensions suggest that earlier threat assessments deserve reconsideration, while the author stresses the need for additional surveys to establish abundance and ecological requirements.
9–16: Somatochlora borisi spec. nov., a new European dragonfly species from Bulgaria (Anisoptera: Corduliidae) (Milen Marinov)
A distinctive Somatochlora from the Eastern Rhodopes is described as a new species. Morphological illustrations and brief observations of habitat and behaviour accompany the description; type specimens are deposited in Sofia’s National Museum of Natural History.
17–45: Commented bibliography of the Bulgarian fauna of the Odonata (Milen Marinov)
An annotated review assembles 135 articles concerning Bulgarian Odonata and considers additional information from wetland management plans. It traces the development of faunistic knowledge and documents the sources underlying the national species inventory.
46–53: The genus Somatochlora Selys in Bulgaria (Milen Marinov)
Museum material and field investigations are used to reassess Bulgarian Somatochlora records. Distribution, habitat and flight periods of S. metallica and S. meridionalis are discussed, alongside S. borisi and unresolved evidence for S. flavomaculata.
54–56: Protokoll der Jahresmitgliederversammlung des IDF in Schwäbisch Hall am 19. März 2000 (Martin Lindeboom)
