Abstract

Plagulibasis richardsi sp. nov. (Holotype ♂: P’nyang Camp 4, 1-viii-2013), a new damselfly from southern Papua New Guinea, is described. Diagnostic characters of both sexes are illustrated. Similarities with Plagulibasis ciliata (Ris, 1913), the hitherto only other known species of Plagulibasis Lieftinck, 1949, and with two similar species of Teinobasis Kirby, 1890 are discussed, with all being compared in detail.
